NSF ACCESS
Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support
The NSF ACCESS program, funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), helps researchers and educators use the some of the nation's most advanced computing system and services—at no cost, and with or without supporting grants.
ACCESS provides advanced computing resources at no cost to researchers and educators.
ACCESS represents the collaborative efforts of five service teams: Allocations, Support, Operations, Metrics, and a Coordination Office. The teams work together to facilitate the discovery, access, and use of available CI resources and services to produce science impact and to enhance researcher productivity and enable new areas and methods of research and education.
CISL is part of the ACCESS Allocations leadership and team, contributing allocations, software development, outreach, and communications expertise. CISL has also integrated its flagship HPC system, Derecho, into the ACCESS environment, in support of extending its reach into the Earth system science community.
If you need large-scale resources for your Earth system science research and cannot use NSF NCAR's systems — for example, if your project is not funded by NSF — the NSF ACCESS program is likely the next best option for you.
The NSF ACCESS Allocations project is funded by the NSF under award #2138259 (2022–2027).
