Python tutorial: Writing functions

This Python Tutorial Series session is titled "Writing functions" and will cover how to write functions in Python.

We will begin by following content on the Xdev tutorial site, which introduces Python to scientists who already have a good deal of programming experience, albeit with a different language. Our main audience is NCAR scientists, but anyone who has some experience working in the terminal and an understanding of basic coding structures who wants geoscience-applicable examples will find this helpful and rewarding.
