This series has multiple events of different dates within the series. Those events will be listed on the CISL website starting with "GenAI Series."

Generative AI is transforming software development by streamlining coding processes, automating repetitive coding tasks, optimizing development workflows, and enhancing the overall productivity of code development. In response to this, the NSF NCAR HPC User Group (NHUG) is excited to host a workshop series on integrating generative AI in coding.

The workshop will explore use cases and scenarios of AI applications throughout the software development lifecycle, featuring success and failure stories, as well as presentations and demos of tools for code analysis, bug detection, and code quality improvement using AI techniques. Attendees will also learn about using Generative AI for unit testing, writing Makefiles, debugging, and code documentation. Participants will also learn about AI-powered code analysis and quality assurance, along with ethical concerns and trust issues with generative AI. This event aims to equip researchers and developers with the knowledge and skills to harness AI's potential in their coding practices.

This workshop is geared towards: anyone interested in learning more about using Gen AI to streamline their coding tasks.

To attend this workshop, attendees will need: a laptop, GitHub account and installed VSCode on personal laptops.
